As promised, a short post for this week! Here is a really sweet vid that my darling father sent me that recently went viral on Youtube and Wired. It was filmed in Jerusalem over a 2 month period, during which director Kutiman asked local musicians to play something of “Middle Eastern” flavor. The eclectic musical collage ignores religion, ethnicity, and race to reveal a thriving and badass city! Instruments featured include violas, darbuka, horns, guitar, baglama, vocals, turntables and a man playing rhythm on PVC piping in his backyard. Please comment!
